Ahmed Motiwala is an attorney and the founder of M&A Law Firm, P.C., a premier litigation practice built on the philosophy of “Creativity + Precision = Exceptional Outcomes.”
From Humble Beginnings to Legal Excellence
Ahmed’s journey began with his family’s immigrant story. His father came to America out of necessity after the family’s once-prosperous business collapsed. Growing up watching his father work tirelessly while sending money back to support family overseas, a tradition Ahmed continues today, he learned that “you’re not rich because of how much money you have in your bank account, but rather what you can do for those around you- the value you can add to your community.”
At 17, Ahmed began his American work experience pushing wheelchairs at O’Hare Airport for less than $5 per hour, taking two buses and one train starting at 3:00am each morning to begin work at 5:30am. This experience instilled an unshakeable work ethic and understanding of starting from scratch.
Education Through Determination
While supporting his mother financially, Ahmed worked full-time at Verizon Wireless and earned his bachelor’s degree from DeVry University by stacking classes on just Tuesdays and Thursdays to maximize tuition value. Though he wasn’t the most naturally gifted student, Ahmed refused to be out-hustled, bringing relentless work ethic to everything he did. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School with the same determination.
Building M&A Law Firm
After working at a large firm where clients felt like faceless entities measured only by billable hours, Ahmed founded M&A Law Firm in his dining room. As the practice grew, he eventually evolved into a windowless 200-square-foot office that he shared with one other attorney, passing keys back and forth for client meetings. What began as this modest two-person operation has since grown into one of the quickest growing small firms, with a modern office space and growing team.
Because they are among the best trial attorneys, they are often referred clients by other attorneys. Ahmed approaches each case like an artist viewing a complex puzzle, understanding that success requires both creativity and precision. He’s taught his staff that while they are building a business, clients are real people with real problems who deserve empathy and strategic counsel that makes sense from their perspective.
Legacy and Service
Today, Ahmed is proud to be on a first-name basis with hundreds of clients and lead a firm where his team builds meaningful careers while serving the community. The firm handles pro bono cases, provides mentorship opportunities, and maintains a culture of genuine care for both employees and clients, reflected in their hundreds of Google reviews with nearly a perfect 5 star rating.
However, Ahmed’s greatest accomplishment is his family. He is a father to three beautiful children, twin sons and a daughter, and his wife is his best friend and biggest supporter.
Having been blessed with success beyond his original dreams, Ahmed believes it’s his calling to help others realize that their current reality is not their final destination. From pushing wheelchairs to building a law firm that serves the community, his journey proves that with determination and genuine care for others, you can build something that truly makes a difference.
